Electronic cigarettes are finding a home in many peoples personal possessions. Shopping centers, tobacco specialty stores and the internet are all getting in on the push, trying to reach as many returning customers as possible.
Conventional cigarettes are usually smoked by a loyal band of individuals who think their brand is the “best”. The electronic version manufacturers are all striving to collect that same sort of dedication from their users.
And just like conventional smoking accoutrement has a few common and typical parts that make the whole such as paper, tobacco and filter or non, their non-combustible counterparts have a few of their own. The customary electronic smoke has three main parts that make the unit complete and the “smoking” possible. Below we will discuss those parts.
Mouth Piece: Also known as the cartridge this is where the inhalation and operating part of the product is located. In some cases this a disposable piece where a user can attach and detach different cartridges with different flavors and strength levels. With some different products the mouth piece is part of the whole and is needed to be loaded or stuffed with liquid nicotine.
The amount of nicotine in each cartridge varies and is made and marketed as having different levels for those who want more or less, perhaps for the purpose of weening themselves off of the addiction. Besides having different concentrations of nicotine, they are also marketed with different tastes. Full flavor, light and menthol are amongst the usual varieties of taste and strength but they may also have medium strength and more exotic flavors. Apple, plum and banana are not uncommon.
Hollow and spaciously made, these mouth pieces allow the vapor to flow freely from product to user. This is important as the more convenient and life-like they can make their products the more successful the manufacturers will be.
Atomizer or Heating Element: Here is where the heat is created which is needed for the vaporization process to take place. Some of these are made long lasting, up to six months. Other brands only last three months. The replacement cost depends mostly on the durability of the original but different types are easily used. Regardless of usage time, they are relatively inexpensive to replace.
Battery/Electronics: Here is the power source of this highly technical cigarette. Most of these use lithium rechargeable batteries. Much like a cell phone or laptop computer, the devices can be plugged in and charged for hours of use. As in all things that are rechargeable, battery life depends largely on frequency of use and battery size.
At times there is a button that must be depressed in order to get the vaporizer to work while other brands offer completely automated power sources which are activated by the flow of air from inhalation. Sensors are responsible for this.
Besides this, the battery element also powers other features such as automatic shut offs to conserve energy and a light that will indicate usage and power when applied.
Although it can seem that these products are very complex and may be difficult to use that is not the case at all. If a person were to use one they could quickly find themselves purchasing one. Electronic cigarettes are causing quite the stir.
