Stop Smoking Marijuana

This is a guide on how to quit smoking marijuana. I highly recommend you to stick to this process for at least 21 days, as studies have shown that you need to do something for at least that period of time for it to become a natural part of your lifestyle.

Step 1: Write down your personal goal of quitting marijuana.

You need to write down that you are determined to stop smoking marijuana and the reasons why you want to do so. The reason being that research has shown that people who write their goals are much more likely to achieve them than those who don’t write them down.

Be specific in your goals. Write down the exact date when you want to quit. Write down the date when you wrote the goal down. Sign your name so you can stay more committed to achieving this goal.

Step 2: Know exactly why you want to quit smoking marijuana.

The most important step is to find out your own inner reason. Look deep inside yourself, and ask yourself what you stand to gain from giving this habit up. Once you know your inner reason, you will have a strong enough reason to achieve your goal of becoming sober.

Once you have clarity, you will have all the motivation you need to do whatever it takes to achieve your new goal. Without this clarity, you will almost certainly fail, as at the times when you feel tempted to smoke, you will have no real reason not to.

Step 3: Tell others that you will quit.

There is power in telling others that you will stop smoking marijuana. That’s because once others know, there is that added pressure to really achieve your goal so you won’t lose face. You will also have moral support available to you when you most need it.

Remember that it is something to be proud of, not something to feel ashamed about. You are making a change for the better and those close to you will be pleased for you, and will be more than happy to help you in any way that they can.

Step 4: Find a replacement activity.

If you are a chronic pot smoker, then the chances are that you don’t spend much, if any, time doing anything else. That is why you want to discover those passions that you used to love prior to smoking before.

Take some time to reflect on your old passions, talents, and skills and make the new commitment to go back into them again. Whether it be sports, music or educating yourself, whatever you do will give you something else to focus on, which is just what you need.

Follow these steps on a consistent basis and never give up. You will be on your way to become 100% free and sober. Eventually, you will be living a happy, drug free, life.
